At this time I am still completing my creative writing thesis composed of poetry and prose. My collection will reflect political, social, and economic flaws in America.
In February 2022, my first poetry collection was published. It is titled "to Saturn" under the pen name, Sydney Elise. The book is divided into three sections and explores themes of love, friendship, and growth in late adolescence.

In the meantime, here is a love letter to the moon:
so bright is she, illuminate my soul
a crescent, gibbous, half, or full the sky
is lit, complete and healing. must i cry
and pray to her. i let her take control
of everything that pains me, wash in whole
it all away and save me, i comply.
the sun behind, he is her light but die
she does. the dark new moon, it leaves a hole.
he comes, he goes, he’s temporary light.
he’s cyclical, addictive. just like mine.
i beg for constant light, a guarantee
for love and peace in darker times of night.
not half, but whole. the moon deserves to shine.
the moon, so strong. i manifest she’s me.
